The quality of the recommendation letters can either positively or negatively impact the results of the application, depending on how well-written they are and how well they represent the candidate’s achievements.

The final number of required letters depends on the number of achievements that the candidate has, and can vary from around 10-15. The USCIS generally requires at least 3-5 expert opinion letters to establish that the candidate is indeed one of the small percentage of people who have risen to the very top of the field of endeavor. Other letters are submitted to confirm previous employment, membership, judging or awards.

Letters we offer:

Expert Opinion Letter
An expert opinion letter is a highly customized evaluation, written by an expert in the relevant field. The purpose of this letter is to support the case of the applicant, by highlighting the innovativeness and significant impact of their contributions to the field.

Advisory Opinion Letter
An advisory opinion letter (also known as a consultation letter) is one of the formal requirements for O-1 Visa applicants. It is traditionally a letter from a designated U.S. peer group or labor organization in the field. However, many O-1 applicants (like startup founders and scientists) have no official peer group or labor organization for their field. In such cases, it is possible to submit a letter signed by a US-based company or person who is an expert in the field. This person (or organization) should be based in the U.S. and have no financial interest in the applicant’s work.

Confirmation Letters (critical employment, membership, judging, awards)
A confirmation letter is one type of evidence to support the candidate’s critical role in the indicated organization or event. The letter describes the candidate’s responsibilities and how their expertise contributed to the event or organization as a whole.
